Join Leadership Montgomery the morning of Saturday, July 21st for our summer day of service! This summer we're highlighting organizations focused on conserving, preserving, protecting, and restoring Montgomery County's considerable natural environment, ecosystems, vegetation, and wildlife. Sign up now to join one of our volunteer groups!

Matthew Henson State Park with Rock Creek Conservancy (Aspen Hill)

Join us for a park clean up in Aspen Hill with Rock Creek Conservancy. Here we'll walk the park seeking out and removing trash and recyclables from the Rock Creek Watershed to prevent it washing into the creek, river, and bay. Edit: This site is now full. Please register to join us at one of the other sites below!

Colt Terrace Neighborhood Park with Friends of Sligo Creek (Kemp Mill)

Join us for an invasive species removal in Silver Spring with Friends of Sligo Creek. Here we'll learn to identify and remove wavyleaf basketgrass from the park (it has weak roots and can easily be pulled out by hand!) Help stop this invasive, non-native plant from outcompeting native herbaceous plants and shrubs so our local ecosystems can thrive.

Lake Bernard Frank with Montgomery Parks Weed Warriors (Rockville)

Join us for an invasive species removal in Rockville with Montgomery Parks Weed Warriors. Here we'll learn to identify and remove wavyleaf basketgrass from the park (it has weak roots and can easily be pulled out by hand!) Help stop this invasive, non-native plant from outcompeting native herbaceous plants and shrubs so our local ecosystems can thrive.
